All vessels supplied are members of the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation constituent associations have active fishing licenses and can be adapted, within current vessel stability stipulations, to meet with client requirements.
Main areas of operation are UK Sector (central and northern North Sea and West of Scotland) and Norwegian Sectors. All vessels are subjected to an annual vessel inspection (Guard Vessel Inspection & Specification Document), carried out by suitably qualified company personnel. This document is endorsed by the Marine Safety Forum, in which SFF is actively involved. Further details can be found in the HSEQ section.
We also have vessels that have completed an IMCA Inspection; further details of these vessels are available on request.
Guard Vessels:
Providing fishing vessels, utilised as guard vessels, to guard client’s assets during vulnerable periods of installation, construction or decommissioning.
Chase Vessels:
Providing fishing vessels, utilised as chase vessels, to escort survey vessels during seismic activities and tug vessels during tow bundle operations.
Trawl Sweeps:
Upon completion of decommissioning, providing a fishing vessel to carry out trawl sweeps on the seabed of the designated area, using a chain mat deployed from the Vessel, to ensure that any residual material is captured and removed prior to issuing a clearance certificate to confirm grounds can be reopened for fishing.
Environmental; Oil Spill Responses:
The company has from time to time provided fishing vessels to undertake boom deployment operations in order to assist oil spill vessels undertaking oil spill exercises in some near shore and highly sensitive areas.
Shore based expertise has also been provided by the company during such operations.
Offshore Defence Industry:
The company has provided from time to time offshore vessels to work with both the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force supporting a variety of sensitive defence related marine matters.
